Back to the game. Daniele and Jeff talk and Daniele is playing things smart by trying to mend what’s broken. She understands that she needs the vets alliance and knows that she can’t get rid of them all in one week, so try and be cool with them so you can remain in an alliance. Brendon said it best when he said “nobody’s ever won this game by themselves.” She is realizing that she needs Jeff and Jordan. She tells them that she will keep them safe if, in return, they do the same for her next week if they happen to win HOH. Although, we all know (and so should Jeff and Jordan) that if Kalia or one of the other newbies win HOH, she’ll be all over them about putting up Jeff and Jordan, if not Brendon and Rachel if both of them happen to stay (even though it seems unlikely at this point since they are aiming this episode at her putting those two up on the block).
As I was fast forwarding through the commercials (yes, I DVR the show and watch it back), I see that President Obama has interrupted the show to talk about some stupid debit issue. I don’t get into politics, they’re all crooks the way I look at it, and our economy is already in shambles so what’s the difference with all this talk about fixing it when you know they won’t. Back in the day, when a TV show would be interrupted by news, it would usually mean that the show was interrupted, but these days they continue to play the show in full, so I knew I was going to end up missing the end of the episode because of this. My DVR only tapes 2 minutes extra, and I believe he spoke for around 4 minutes, so I was probably going to miss the nominations. Good thing for the internet, huh? Seriously, though, if people are watching a show like Big Brother, chances are we don’t care about what the President has to say about the debt. If the IRS can’t even figure out how to process my taxes and get me my return on a reasonable schedule, then how can I trust Congress to get us out of debt. It’s not going to happen, just like how it took me 6 months to get my tax return money. Oh, and thanks for the $35 in interest you gave me for hijacking my bank account and making me use up some of my savings since I actually needed my tax return money the 8-10 days after you said I would get it if I sent you my taxes early. You know how I said I was going to try and not use the f- word. I can’t help it, F*ck you, Internal Revenue Service. How about that? Six months to process 4 sheets of paper. Eat a d*ck.
I apologize for that tangent, but I feel a little better. Actually, I really don’t, but I still said it. We had a lighter moment in the backyard with Jeff and Jordan trying to have a conversation while Rachel and Porsche kept running through their conversation. Rachel falling had to have been the funniest thing I’ve seen this season. That was one heck of a fall. She slipped on the patio edge and tumbled over the patio, and landed in Jeff’s lap pretty much. She did a barrel roll off the deck, too. Thank God Brendon wasn’t back there, because I could only imagine his response. He probably would have acted as if she was on her death bed and been kissing her and holding her in his arms, crying out to God, “Why God, why?” Good stuff. I think my favorite part of it all was Porsche’s subtle reaction after Rachel kept running afterwards. She put her head down and ever-so-slightly shook it as if to say “Sh*t, I was hoping we were done.” If you don’t want to run, Porsche, don’t run. You don’t have to be Rachel’s lap dog.
Before the nomination ceremony, CBS shows us Brendon and Rachel’s attempt at apologizing to Daniele. Didn’t work. Brendon talked about reuniting the 5 vets and becoming a team again, but we all know there is no chance in hell of that happening. Daniele is out. Rachel asks Daniele if she’d be willing to make a deal with them and Dani’s response is all the answer Rachel should have needed, when she told her that she’s not really making deals but is willing to hear them out as to what they have in mind. Yeah, ok. An HOH that doesn’t make deals? Never in the history of Big Brother has that happened. I think those two knew their fate was sealed at that point.
And, right before the first key was pulled is when my DVR cut off. I had to look it up online that Brendon and Rachel were nominated for eviction. I don’t know what Daniele said to them after doing it, but I’d imagine she was somewhat nice about it and said that they were the biggest threats and blah, blah, blah. You would have to imagine that one of those two (Brendon or Rachel) will win Veto, since that’s how this season has played out so far. It will be interesting to see what Brendon does if he wins it. I am guaranteeing you that he tries to throw it (without saying so), because he doesn’t want to be put in that awkward situation where he looks like a tool because he uses it to save Rachel. Although, admittedly, any guy playing Big Brother with their loved one would do the same. So, maybe he’s not a tool if he did that, but he’s still a tool outside of that move. But, we’ll have to wait and see what happens with Veto (although I’m sure some of you already know).
Scott
Actually Matt won the endurance competition last year. But I really wouldn’t consider him a “man”… And last season’s females were pretty weak.
I don’t think you should have to apologize for saying who won HOH. Like you said, most people already watched the live feed to figure out who won. Anyone afraid of spoilers probably shouldn’t be on realitysteve.com! If anything I think your readers would appreciate MORE spoilers. Really enjoying your blog so far, Scott!
Great recap as always Scott! I thought Daniele was very nice with her nomination speech. I really hope that Daniele wins POV or if she replaces someone I hope she puts up Porsche! What a floater! I must also admit I miss Cassie, at least she had some substance about the things she talked about.
Thanks everyone! I think I remember Matt winning an endurance comp, but he’s on the same wavelength as Dan. And, ‘charlie’ I can’t really do spoilers because by the time I even recap my episodes, the show is already 4 or 5 steps ahead of me and the show. So, I do what I can and try to add some things here and there, but I’m limited.
And, chefkim, I think we all miss Cassi!! I miss her to death…
Eh. That was not really a “spoiler”. I know that we did not get to see it on LIVE TV, but we would have if it was not an endurance competition, so I do not think you need to apologize for that.
Next, why is this season sort of boring? Maybe because all they show is Brechel crying or pouting. I am not sure, but it does not keep my attention like past seasons. Even with Jeff. 🙂
But Rachel falling was so classic. Thank God for DVR and being able to rewind it. Since I already know who is nominated and who wins veto, I will not spoil it.
But just know my fingers are crossed…
I agree that Cassie is hot (duh), and I think she is in it to win it, but I think we will both be disappointed when “America” votes Dom back in the house, because I think people want Danielle to win because her dad is such a douche. Btw, if she does make it back in the house I agree that CBS needs to show more bikini shots of her. Hello! Take some notes from the BBC version which is just salacious.
