BIG BROTHER – 8/5/11

Brendon is evicted by a vote of 5-2. In his interview with Julie, he cries. Typical. I have no doubt that he loves Rachel, but I think he is overly compensating for something with all of his emotions he shows. All of the cheering her on and coming to her defense is a facade. I think people who are like that in relationships are trying to persuade themselves that the strong feelings they have for that other person is actually love. I’m not saying he doesn’t love her, but I just believe that he doesn’t love her as much as even he thinks he does. I think them being together mostly inside the Big Brother game has something to do with that. It’s not healthy to spend that much time with your partner.

Julie surprises the remaining houseguests with a new twist. She tells them that the next houseguest that is evicted will have the chance to get back in the game. And, that’s all she told them at that juncture. What she left out is what we know, that America will vote on a previous evicted houseguest to go up against the next evicted houseguest to regain entry in the house. Now, I’m going to say this once, please vote Cassi back in the house. I won’t give you a 500 word essay about why I want her back in the house, but think about how great it would be for her to go back in the game when both girls that wanted her out so bad are now in a bind and might actually need her in this game. Both Daniele and Rachel have lost their partners and alliance and might actually find it necessary to work with Cassi when she comes back. And, it would be a smart move for Cassi to join forces with Daniele. Although, I think the smartest move for her would be to rejoin forces with Shelly, who is working with Jeff and Jordan, who can pull in Adam (since he’ll go along with anyone who seems to have power), and keep Rachel just for numbers. That would be the new power alliance. That makes much more sense than her going along with Daniele, Kalia, and Lawon. That is NOT a power alliance whatsoever.

So, let’s do this fellow Big Brother fiends. Let’s get Cassi back in the house. Nobody wants Brendon or Keith back in the game. I can understand why you may want Dom back in the game, but he doesn’t look as good in a bikini. Plus, he’s not exactly bright or a great decision maker, so he’s just going to end up right back out of the game since he’s just so blinded by lust that he’ll go right back into the arms of Daniele, who even though she’s HOH is not in any sort of power.

Lastly, we got the HOH competition. I don’t even want to talk about who wins. All I want to talk about is how stupid Shelly was in that final round. You’re playing a game where you have to be the quickest to push down a button and yet you have your hands down at the side of the podium, holding onto the podium?!? How does that work Shelly? Didn’t you see Kalia’s hands hovering over the buttons before the question was even being read? I’m not sure if you were throwing the competition because you think you’re safe and don’t want any “blood” on your hands, but this was NOT a smart move. The numbers are dwindling and you may think you are playing both sides of the house, but you should know that Kalia is on the opposite side of the house than the one you really are on and will only work to get your alliance members out. Playing both sides of the house means that you are in the middle of the totem pole, which means when you pull those poles apart, you’re at the bottom of each pole (each pole represents each alliance). Therefore, you’re in no position to win this game. So, if that was your way of throwing the HOH, shame on you and your weak-ass strategy. I hope Kalia puts you up.

But, let’s be honest, she’s going to do whatever Daniele wants her to do and that will be to, most likely, put up Jeff and Rachel. The only thing I’m hoping for is that Daniele wants to remain with Jeff and Jordan and puts up Rachel and Adam. But, I don’t think that’s how it’s going to go.

  1. agreed – only wednesday’s recap is up.
ps. i’d bring Dom back to join up with Daniele, should be good!

  2. I so badly want to see Cassie back. I really dislike, ok hate, Rachel and knowing she got Cassie out of the house for no other reason then looks… (oh right I meant saying sbc he did not like Porsche) . I would love to see the look on Rachel’s face when Cassie comes back! Plus I love how Cassie put Brachel in their places before she left.

  3. I love your commentary on BB, Scott!
I LOVED cassi but sorry man, I am definitely voting Dom back in over Cassi because of the following reasons: 1) The houseguest with the most votes has to battle the evicted houseguest in a comp and the winner gets to go back in the house. From what we’ve seen, Dom is the better competitor so you would be wasting your votes in Cassi because she isn’t going to win 🙂 2) Obviously the house is divided with JJ/Rachel against Dani/Kalia and the rest are useless floaters. Putting Dom back in means more drama because he would definitely align with Dani and it would make the game more interesting. If you put Cassi back in, she will run to Shelly (who is aligned with the vets, she would be another number and the vets would take out Dani and Kalia and the season would be boring. 3) Personally I am sick and tired of the vets running in the house. Even though Dani fucked up big time last week, I’m still rooting for her and out of all the evicted houseguests, Dom would be her biggest ally. 4) Umm he’s hot?? 🙂

Sorry to ramble, but honestly it depends on who you’re rooting for: If you’re a JJ fan, vote Cassi because she will most likely team up with them. If you’re rooting for Dani, vote Dom.

  4. When Julie (who I cannot stand!) was talking to the house guests before the vote, she said that the only other time the veto holder was on the block and did not use it on themselves was in Season 8 when Dick used it on Danielle. But back in Season 3 (my favorite season), Marcellas used the veto on Amy when they were both on the block. I don’t know if that was Julie or some writer, but do about 5 seconds of research next time.

  5. I totally caught the whole thing with showing Brendon as a possible returning houseguest before he was even voted out yet! now i know if you watch the live feeds or read the spoilers it was pretty obvious that he was going to get evicted but seriously, we’ve been surprised before. I had the same thought–a little scripting going on. Would not be surprised if you see a return of Brendon (regardless of who America actually votes for) just for the dramatic aspect of him returning…I think if I see that I’ll know that there’s some scripting to this show. You already get a sense reading jokersupdates that the DR people totally manipulate the people and plant ideas in their heads to create more drama….
