BIG BROTHER – 8/10/12

August 10th, 2012 | 6 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Janelle talks with Dan and tells him that she really wants to work with Boogie, and doesn’t understand his relationship with Frank and why he’s so stuck to him, because she feels that the coaches are the four biggest threats (and targets) in the house. Yet, here we are the first week they are players and not one of them is nominated, or even the target to get voted out! I see her point and think she’s somewhat right, but the coaches have great relationships with “their” players that I don’t truly buy it. I think it would have been the obvious choice for the four coaches to group up, but it’s almost as if she’s discrediting Dan’s relationship with Danielle, Britney’s with Shane, and even her own with Wil. Of course, since she has all three of her players left, she won’t mind if the coaches decide to ditch their one player because she thinks she’s still backed by a strong trio.

Stupidest comment of the night goes to Triple D, with his comment to Janelle about Boogie, “Maybe I overestimated him as a player.” If I didn’t already hate Dan, this would have been reason enough to start.

Dan and Boogie talk in the storage room, with Dan wanting to bring up the coaches sticking together. Instead, Boogie tells him how he’s still pissed at Dan because Dan knew about the plan to vote out Frank and didn’t say anything to him. Dan’s response was a bunch of “Uh, duh, um, duh, d-d-d-uh’s.” Good one, d*ckface. I’m sure that was an enticing appeal to get Boogie to drop his ally and come team up with the same three people who were working together to get his ally voted out the week before, while telling Boogie he was safe. Boogie, basically, tells Dan to buzz off unless he’s willing to bring Frank into the alliance, as well, and keep him safe.

Ian feels alone in the game now. He feels like he’s a free agent and he doesn’t want to be. He doesn’t want to be a floater, and instead feels he needs to make a decision on which side of the house to join up with. He goes and talks with Britney about joining their side and dumping Boogie and Frank as allies. At this point in the game, I am thinking it’s probably a smart move on Ian’s part. He hasn’t really put himself out there yet, hasn’t really had to help with making any decisions, so this may be a way for people to see that he’s playing the game and that he’s willing to make big moves to further himself (and others) in the game.

Janelle and Frank run into each other in the bathroom, late at night, Frank says something about how everyone is sleeping, yet a minute or two into their conversation, two hundred and five people are in the kitchen, fully dressed, eating and drinking! Anyway, Britney walks past, sees Janelle talking to Frank, and all hell breaks loose! God forbid one human being talks to another when there is no TV around, they are locked inside and can’t go in the backyard to swim or workout, and everyone else is “sleeping.” I understand everyone is paranoid in the house, but did she truly expect that Janelle would never talk to Frank again? Yes, she was just talking to you about how she wants him out of the house, but for all you know, Britney, Frank cornered her and is just trying to work some kind of deal, because, you know, HE’S ON THE BLOCK!!! And, people who are on the block tend to want to talk to those who are going to vote them out to see if they can change her mind. And, as much as I dislike Dan, he hit it on the nose with his girly drama comments about how they’re going to blow everything out of proportion. This is the exact reason why I say girls should never talk to other girls. For all of you girls out there, whenever you feel any kind of emotion, talk to a guy. He’ll put it into perspective for you that you are just acting/thinking crazy and need to calm yourself down. I’m sure had Britney and Danielle been alone in that HOH room, the two of them would have ended with conspiring to pop Janelle’s fake titties, and then drown her in the Jacuzzi since she didn’t have floaties anymore.

We finally made it to the Veto Competition, where we learn that Ian wants to throw the competition. News flash, Ian, you can’t really throw a competition that is based off of chance. And, if you truly did want to throw it, you would have flung that ball as hard as you could and missed the targets completely. Nice try, genius. I’m starting to think Ian is like Keyser Soze and right after he’s voted the winner of Big Brother, he’s going to stop swaying from side to side, start walking with a pimp strut, crush his glasses in his hand, and start talking with this extra deep voice, making everyone else look like a fool for believing he’s some weird, autistic childlike character. If this happens, you heard it here first. If not, go about your day like I never said anything.

I mentioned how Ian wanted to start playing the game earlier in this episode, but let’s all give a warm welcome to Jenn. Jenn is a Puerto Rican lesbian, who used to be a lead singer in an all female heavy metal band. She lives in New York and is a contestant on the 14th season of Big Brother. Everyone, Jenn. Jenn, everyone. Her plan is to rock out in this competition and actually start playing this game, making some deals, having some sort of power, making alliances, etc. New news flash, Jenn, you suck. You’re most likely going to be out soon.

And, you are out. I think we all know now at this point my affection for Britney. Well, she’s only adding fuel to the fire now. Her joyfulness for Jenn winning the Maui trip, rewarding her for all of her hard work in the house, was hilarious. She is beginning to erase the memory of Cassi, in my heart.

Oh boy, Keyser Soze (google it since I’m sure none of you know what I’m talking about – then go rent the movie because it’s one of the best movies ever) is at his idiotic ways again. He chooses to keep “A Dog’s Life” for 24 hours instead of trading it for a trip to Maui?!? And, then wants to say that he already has $3,000 and doesn’t want to be greedy? If that’s the case, how about you take the trip to Maui and then tell Jenn you’ll give her $1,000 of your $3,000! Come on, dawg, do you realize how foolish you are going to look having to be walked around on a leash? I get it that you want the Big Brother experience, but Mike Boogie put it best with his comment about Maui being a great new experience for your life! Get a grip, even Keyser Soze would have taken that damn trip. I think his ploy to always take the “punishment” might start coming off as annoying to the other houseguests. Of course, I’m sure Jenn, the hard worker, is grateful. Let’s make sure we ask her how grateful she is of your gesture when she’s voting you out in 2 or 3 weeks.

And, Danielle wins the Veto! And, Frank, being as stupid as Ian is passes on $5,000 to trade for the Veto that everyone in the entire world, even some people way off in Kyrgyzstan who don’t even know what Big Brother is knew you weren’t going to end up with that Veto. Keep that money and trust yourself (or I should say Mike Boogie) to get you the votes you need to stay.

Boogie talks to Frank, and tells him that he wants to sit down with Dan (not Danielle) about nominated Janelle and getting her voted out of the house this week. When I first heard him say he wanted to talk to Dan instead of Danielle, I got kind of irked because, again, this season is just turning out to be about the veterans, but then I quickly got over it and realized that he was correct in his thinking. He needs to talk to Dan, because talking to Danielle is pointless, because all she’d end up saying is that she needed to talk to Dan. It’s become apparent that Dan is running the house this week. Not Danielle. But, to my commenter’s points, that still doesn’t mean that Danielle winning isn’t a game-changing event. Case in point, look what happened at the end of this episode! Do you think that happens if Frank or Shane won? No, it would be a get-to-the-point week where everything they wanted to have happen, would.

  1. Hey – I commented on your last post yesterday that I was wrong before, when I had thought Danielle wasn’t a game changer as HOH – so pipe down there, no need to point it out again…although, well, maybe, that’s what I get for saying it! I guess its your blog…

And, I know exactly who Keyser Soze – is – great great movie! That would be funny if it was all a persona Ian was acting out…you know, like how Ashley isn’t that ditzy in real life too, right?

  2. Scott, all I can say is even though I know it’s 99 percent no way no how gonna happen, that I LOVE your Usual Suspects theory about Ian. If that were to happen it would be the greatest season ever, and I will think that even if he didn’t win, but it still happened during his exit anytime.

  3. I didn’t see the season(s) with Boogie and/or Janelle, so I’m new to them both. However, as I said in an earlier comment: Boogie is brilliant.
His manipulations are so subtle, so logical, so compelling that (at least for now) he’s got the Silent Six wrapped around his little finger – errrr …. maybe his middle finger? Watching him work in the After Dark broadcasts, I knew he would be successful in instigating the back-dooring of Janelle. (Sorry, Danielle, you really had very little to do with it.)
I have to admit that I am beyond thrilled that Janelle was voted out and will not be on the Jury (and I’ll be massively ticked-off if BB somehow contrives to have her return to the game the way they did with Rachel/Brendan in the past).
Probably some people were put off by Boogie taunting Janelle in his “good bye” message, but I thought it was hilarious – and, frankly, I lost any sympathy at all toward Janelle when she called him a “douchebag” (although BB bleeped it out, you knew what she said).
Can’t wait until the Expendables are gone (Joe, Jenn, Ashley & Will) and the Silent Six + Ian are going to have to go up against each other, cause that’s when it’s really going to get interesting.
I’m betting on Boogie, Frank & Ian developing an alliance that’ll bring them to the final 3.
Scott, despite your avoidance of spoilers (which I think is too bad ’cause I’m sure you’d have extremely funny comments about them), I’m still loving your recaps.
Cheers to my fellow BB fans.

  4. I think Boogie is determined to win to prove he can do it without Will! And at this point, I think he can win it again. Unless They have Pandoras box again and the penalty for the positive is to bring former houseguests in to replace boring ones….Paging Dr. Will! Wouldn’t that be a twist, get rid of players(using that term loosely) like Jenn and Danielle(yes I know she won HOH and veto but still!) and replace them with Will. Those of you who have never watched season 2 or 7, watch those seasons on YouTube and you will understand why I love him!

  5. Oh FanofSteve you’ve missed out – and cheers to you too! By the sounds of things, you would have loved the season with Chilltown, if you think Boogie is brilliant, you should have seen him with Dr. Will. Same kind of strategy – logicical, compelling brilliance – and honestly even when they were screwing people over it was so hard to be mad at them because they were so fun and funny – both for the viewers and houseguests alike. Hands down, best BB, if not reality show season, I have ever enjoyed. If it would be possible for you to find that season, you should watch it. And I don’t think I would say that about any other reality tv show. It was the first all star season – and so b/c they had all played the game before, it really bumped the strategy up a whole level. It should be all new or all stars though – not this mix of old and new.

And in janelles season, she really did rule her season and came so close in all stars – she did rely on competitions to save her butt though, she really was amazing at them, as well as stirring up drama as distraction. It’s just that her game doesn’t work so well against Boogie’s – and she’s right, he would only ever want a bro alliance and that I think really ticks her off. I think she stands out as one of the only BB females to ever really make a mark on this game. Her and evil Dick in the same house might have made an interesting season.

I never saw Boogie/ Will’s first season, I think that was the first season ever of BB. I do remember Nokomis pinoreeing the back door strategy, and I remember at the time thinking how brilliant that was – just brilliant. I don’t think there is another strategy move in BB that compares to when that first happened.

And I know they keep saying the pawn always goes home as a strategy, but you know, that really hasn’t been true the last couple of seasons. It use to be true, but it hasn’t really happened that much anymore, but everyone keeps thinking it will.

Anyway, I could keep going, but y’all might get bored!

  6. Keyser Soze!HaHa! This recap was so funny! I love Alf too but do you remember how f*ed up the ending to that show was? Traumatized me for life. Also, did you notice how Julie didn’t interview Danielle privately in the HOH room like she usually does? Even Julie knew that was pointless.
