Big Brother Recap – 6/26/15

June 26th, 2015 | 6 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

I’m back! God knows everyone missed me, so take your time to get used to the fact that I’m back in your lives now and after you calm yourselves down, continue on with reading through what may end up being the most ridiculous blog I’ve ever written. I say that only because these cast members only get more and more ridiculous every year.

Two quick housekeeping things to get out of the way: first, I’m introducing a new addition to the blog this season. I’m going to call it the “Reader Recap.” What this will entail is you, the reader, sending me a ONE paragraph recap on any portion of the episode you just watched. Please keep it to ONE paragraph. I don’t want you to recap the entire episode. For each episode, I will choose one reader’s paragraph and slice it into my recap for the episode (giving you all the credit, of course). Please make sure you get the recap to me the night of the show or early morning the following day. Now, judging off of past reader interaction with this blog, I’m expecting anywhere from ZERO to TWO emails per episode, so if you get passed up for your first attempt, just try again next episode because chances are you’re going to win that one. Email your recaps to me at BigBrotherRecaps@yahoo.com. I look forward to reading your insanity and letting you know what medications I’d prescribe you if I were your psychiatrist.

Now second housekeeping item is my twitter account. I’ve created an account just for this blog. Stop what you’re doing RIGHT NOW and go follow me (@BigBrotherRecap). Seriously, if you read this and have a Twitter account, just follow me. It won’t hurt. We’ll be TFFs. Maybe I’ll throw in a few fun surprises throughout the season, who knows. Well, you’ll know if you follow. If you don’t, you won’t. And you’ll be forever wondering why you didn’t…

Now that that’s out of the way, how about we get to the recap, huh?!? We start off the show like every season – with Julie welcoming us back for another season and telling us that we’re in for a bunch of craziness and to always expect the unexpected with this season. Although, at this point, shouldn’t it just be ‘expect the expected?’ I mean, it’s not like they’re revolutionizing the twists or anything. Wouldn’t it be the unexpected if they DIDN’T have a twist? Keep everything standard operating procedure the entire season and just keep everyone thinking a twist is coming. Wouldn’t that truly be the unexpected? But I digress. And if you’re new to the blog, get used to the phrase ‘I digress.’ I do/say it a lot.
Anyway, Julie tells us there are going to be three twists this season, a fan favorite (which at the time she spoke it, I just figured it was going to be a fan favorite as in we choose our favorite contestant a la America’s Player, but more on that later), a second twist only we know about, and the #BBTakeover, which is a weekly twist that will (supposedly) change from week to week, and will be ushered in by special guests each week. I already know what this means and that I’ll have to put up with Dan Gheesling showing up at some damn point. I’m just never going to get rid of that kid. If you’re new to this blog, get used to me hating on Dan Gheesling. I f*cking hate him. If you ask why, my answer will most likely be something like “It’s just his face,” but the hatred runs much deeper than that. It’s purely Big Brother hatred, I don’t actually hate him as a person since I don’t even know him, but just for the sake of my entertainment with this show, please stop bringing Dan back. Please. And thank you.

  1. Yaa Scott, you are back. Let me be your first loyal reader to welcome you and say how glad I am to get to read your blogs again. 🙂 This year, I’m probably foolishly letting my 12 and 10 year old watch with me. I may just let one of them do a recap bc their comments are great. A few observations, John is seriously creepy and we are wondering if he does in fact have a pulse bc he looks about the color of a cadaver that’s been in the morgue a week. But props to him for at least being honest about his profession. My kids and I were all grossed out by Jason’s nasty wet pits (hey Jason, maybe don’t wear a shirt that’s as tight as a pair of spanx and your pits will air out a bit!). I hate to tell Davonne that being the person in the poker game who deals the cards is a crap job and does’t mean you are any smarter than the grocery boy. I really wish they’d brought in a few more interesting Amazing Race players. Like the annoying deaf kid and his mom? But I forget that most people with a real job don’t do this show. Ok that’s all for now. So glad yo are back. We will all suffer through it together. Oh, BTW, I love your suggestion about letting the HOH play the next week, that would be really awesome.

  2. SO glad you are back Scott! I agree with so much of what you said, especially allowing HOHs to vie for HOH the following week.

Here’s to a brand new season of annoying housemates! 🙂

  3. I laughed while reading this entire recap! I agree that this cast is the generic version of many memorable cast members from seasons past. I was shocked that the HG’s will be playing the game for 98 days!?! Oh the paranoia.
    Looking forward to the recaps!

  4. Hi Scott! This is the first season I’m reading your blog so I’m looking forward to the rest of your recaps!

First, I’m kinda disappointed in the cast this season. No one seems very interesting or exciting. Hopefully things will get better but if not, I’ll still watch because I love BB!

You are totally right about women hating other women! Has an all woman alliance ever worked in any season of BB?

I’m also all for getting rid of the HOH rule about not playing the following week – if someone there can crush the competition, let them!

OMG, that BB takeover music! HORRIBLE. That needs to be evicted first. I might go nuts listening to that crap for 98 days….

Thanks again for writing the blog!! Thoroughly enjoyed it tonight!
    Bonnie

  5. Thanks everyone for the support! I hope to keep you all laughing the entire season.

I’ve been reading a lot about the houseguests playing REALLY hard this early on, so I think they may be coming around and be somewhat entertaining. We shall see.

  6. Glad you’re back! I’ve always enjoyed your recaps and missed reading them the last few seasons!
