I’m going to get soft on you guys, now. During the scene where Kalia and Shelly were talking about their life and upbringings, I thought to myself that this is the exact reason I want to be on a reality show like Big Brother or Real World. I want to get to know people I’d never have the opportunity to meet outside of a reality show. I want to be locked in a house with these people so that we can only have long conversations with each other. Growing up, I had this big dream about how college would go. I’d move in freshman year to my dorm room, meet my roommate, and we’d become the closest of friends, spend four years together doing stupid sh*t we’d talk about for years on end. We’d be the best man in each other’s weddings, our wives would be best friends, our children would consider themselves cousins, and everything would be jolly and great. Well, that didn’t happen. Hell, I commuted for three years during college and had my own apartment my senior year. So, I think going into a show like this would hopefully net me a lifelong friend. And, half a million dollars, of course. Ok, sob story over.
We get the first conversation between Kalia and Daniele about nominating Jeff and Rachel. To me, this is the obvious choice for these two. I won’t even say just Kalia, because we all know she’s not making her own decisions here. But, even if she were, I still think this would be the obvious two nominees. As much as I believe floaters are useless in the house and it’s best to evict them, it’s really not. Floaters are the ultimate lifelines in this game. Keep them in the house and get them as far as you can in the game, so it becomes easier for you to win competitions and earn votes for the final two vote.
The Have/Have-Not’s competition netted Jeff, Jordan, Shelly, and Rachel as the Have-Not’s for the week. Nothing exciting to report here other than Shelly sucking at life once again by ignoring Jeff’s advice and losing a point for her team. And, Jordan crying because she didn’t know sauerkraut was in her drink. Lame.
Jordan seems to be on her period in this episode, because she snaps off on how frustrating it is with the floaters in this game (Porsche & Lawon are her two main targets in her rant). She is disgusted by how they just get to sit back and do nothing and enjoy the freedom of a free summer in the Big Brother house, while Jeff and Rachel, and to an extent herself, have to work hard to remain in the game. This happens every season, so it should be nothing new for the vets. I appreciate where Jordan is coming from because I know I’d be pissed about floaters, as well, but talking about it just makes it worse. You definitely don’t confront other people and bring it up in the game, because it just paints a bigger target on your back. It’s just one of those things that you need to deal with in competitions; when you are the cream of the crop, you always need to fight others from trying to take over your spot. The bottom feeders are always going to be content being stuck near the bottom, thinking that they are pulling this magical act where they are pulling the covers over everyone’s eyes and staying under the radar, coasting to the end game. No, dummy, you’re worthless as a competitor to everyone else and they know exactly what you are doing, so they choose not to worry about you and just leave you be. I always love how people who “fly under the radar” think they are pulling some great scheme and are the first people to think of the “strategy” where they don’t win competitions or join alliances or whatever else that puts a target on their backs. These are the people who should never be allowed on Big Brother. I’d love to see a season where we have 13 or 14 houseguests who ALL TRY TO WIN THE GAME!!!

Your columns would be much more interesting if you watched the feeds or Dick at Nite on rtvzone.com. Most of your questions have already been answered and you’d get some great material. Kalia completely lost her mind yesterday and Dani is ready to slap her. It’s fantastic.
I agree with redlily. And your wife. Your updates showed so much promise at the beginning but now I find them a little boring since you are only covering what is happening on the show and not on the feeds. I would like to read your take on what goes on on the feeds that is not shown here. There would be much, much more material for you to work with.
Unfortunately, I have a full time job, a second job, a wife and a daughter and don’t have the time to watch the live feeds and report back on what I see. Besides, if you’re already watching them, you would still know what happened and still think I’m only recapping those events. I’m just doing the best I can with what I’m giving. Sorry for disappointing but I can only be as funny as your sense of humor allows me to be…
I’m surprised no one commented about how hypocritical it was for Jordan to be upset about the people who supposedly didn’t have to work and are floating through. Isn’t that exactly what she did in her season and she ended up winning? p.s. I enjoy your recaps..keep doin’ what your doin’!
Ok…let me clarify something. I only said your blogs were “boring” because I like when you add funny, sarcastic comments about the players. And I wanted MORE of that.
I am glad that you do not watch the live feeds, I would NEVER see you. And plus I would never let you waste money on people we do not know. That is crazy.
This is a blog that recaps the show that everyone sees, and most people do not want to read spoilers.
I also agree that you can only do things with what you are given and this BB cast is pretty boring. I think you are doing a GREAT job. 🙂
I actually do not want any of them back in the house, but do agree that Cassi would probably be the best one. We need people to align with J/J and not Dani. So we will see…
I also do not think these people give you much material to work with….most of them are very boring, and I know that because when the most entertaining part of the season so far has been Rachel in the bushes and Rachel tripping while running, there’s a problem.
I hope Cassi comes back into the game, even though I think a Brendan/Rachel battle would be hilarious. I don’t want Dom to come back into the game because I want Dani outta there. She’s so arrogant, and I think for no reason because her game play sucks.
And for someone who says he is to “into” Big Brother, why does it seem like Adam doesn’t do ANYTHING? Oh, wait…because he doesn’t! I know for a fact if I was in the house, I’d be making moves like crazy…play the game!!!
Scott, I agree with your wife and I think you are doing a great job with what you have. My family LOVES Big Brother, but this year we are soooo bored. I wish they would add some “real” twist and get some exciting people. I like your recaps but would like some more jokes, sarcasim in your recap. Don’t add the live feeds, it only ruins it for a show that is not really pre-taped and happens within days of airing. It’s fun to watch “live” TV and not have things ruined. I hope Cassi or Kevin comeback in. Please NO Brendon, they are too much! Whiney Rachel needs to go.
I feel bad for you Scott….you’re between a rock and a hard place…you got blasted last week by a bunch of readers for revealing a spoiler and this week you’re getting blasted for not incorporating spoilers into your column. You just can’t win. 🙂
As to BB, this season has been pretty boring, so it’s probably tough to find that much to write about. They focus so much on the Young and Restless constant crying of Rachel & Brendon and now Rachel without Brenden that there’s just not that much there. I think had Dick stayed in the house, we’d have the drama we’re missing.
I really liked Daniele when she was paired up with Dick the season they won..I’m surprised to see that I don’t like her that much this season. Probably because I like Jeff and Jordan so much and now she’s against them though.
