That is another thing I find so funny about all the scenes they show us. They make a big deal about the coaches wanting to work together, and who the coaches want to get out, and this is the exact reason why I don’t like this idea of coaches and bringing back old players. If anything, they should have had four new people come into the house and become coaches and to see how the dynamic works with new players being other new players coaches. Dan, Boogie, Janelle, and Britney do not even get a vote (something we learned in this episode), so who cares about who they want to get out. Who cares about what deals they are making to work together. It’s about the players on their teams, and if one of their players doesn’t want to vote that way, they don’t have to. See, I just hate the idea that these players are now having their games effected because of who the coach wants to work with. I just now decided that I truly despise the coaches idea, because I just know it’s going to come back and screw ME with who I like in this game, all because the two girl coaches want to work together or the two guy coaches want to work together. I wish I could be a fifth coach, enter the house, give a speech to these players and tell them that these coaches mean dick to them and they shouldn’t even bother to listen to the things they say. Seriously, you want to trust Britney and think that her efforts are going to help you win? Did you guys even watch her season? She was strung along by a bunch of men, who just wanted to vote out actual threats in the house and eventually just boot her when they didn’t need her vote anymore. That strategy will get you where, exactly? Same with Janelle, she won a lot of competitions, but as soon as there was an opportunity to vote her out, they did. Yes, winning competitions is the best way to stay safe, but not everybody in the house can win competitions. You need a good social game and I don’t believe Janelle has that aspect of the game down pat. So, I just hope that these people eventually learn that they are playing their own game and not the coaches game. I am sure that will happen when the numbers start to dwindle, but I wish it would have happened right away.
Willie gets his HOH room and the big question on my mind was whether or not there would be pictures of Russell in there! And, apparently, the picture element of the HOH room has been dispersed this season. Also, the room being your own is also taken from you, since the “Coach’s Lounge” is connected to the HOH room, with no door as a barrier. So, if you win HOH, your coach also gets to stay in the HOH room with you. If I was on Big Brother, the biggest issue I would have is using the bathroom. I’m one of those people who can’t go to the bathroom even if I know people are outside the door. It has nothing to do with them being able to hear me or anything, it’s just some mental block I have in my brain that as soon I can hear someone else, I just freeze. Yes, I know that’s weird, but it all goes back to the time when I was arrested at the age of 11 for stealing. I got taken to the police station and had to use the bathroom. Had I known what was about to happen, I would have just held it, but who would have known that a grown man police officer would have stood by the door, WITH THE DOOR OPEN, and watched as I peed. Seriously, you are worried that some 11 year old kid was going to flush some evidence down the toilet? You arrested me for stealing a pack of baseball cards and you needed to watch as I peed? I wonder if I can go back and sue him now for mental distress? I can’t f*cking pee in my own house, I’m sure this hasn’t been good on my bladder, I might be able to be a millionaire at this point. I wonder if this is the same thing that happened to the NWA kids, and that’s why they made the song “F*ck The Police.” I’m sure it’s somewhat similar…
Yep, it’s official, Ian is weird. What the hell was the deal with him? I don’t care about the people watching him in the HOH room, talking about “Doesn’t he know that we have a TV in here and can see him?” Yes, idiots, he probably knows that, but he thought you all were sleeping. Gee, I wonder if someone goes on Big Brother and forgets that there are cameras watching them at all times?!? For my liking, Ian is a weirdo, but all those people in the HOH room are idiots for asking those questions. Of course he knows you have a TV, he did see the HOH room, I’m more worried about the fact that he knew there were cameras watching as he bent himself over a chair and let some @ss-music play in front of millions of After Dark & Live Feed viewers!! And, what was the deal with him half-crawling under the bench, crossing his legs, and just staying there? If you’re going to crawl under something, go all the way. Why leave yourself half out like that? Wacko.
Oh gee, that didn’t take long, did it Willie? I called it in my first blog that this idiot was going to play all coy with everyone for, what, one day before he went and told some people that Russell was his brother! If you know you’re, eventually, going to tell someone, just come out at the very beginning! You are in the Big Brother house, people talk, that’s all they have to do at any point of any and every day, and you think you’re going to be safe sharing that information with four other people and at no point those four people are going to use that information against you?!? Goodness me, you want to praise some of these people sometimes for their game play, but then they just do stupid things. I guess it could have come out because he realized after the first day people were questioning him and he wouldn’t be able to hold on to that secret, but I wouldn’t have went and told four people all at once! Maybe tell your Coach or your closest ally, on day 10, but to tell them right away like that? I think Willie proved he’s no Russell. He would go on to prove he’s NOTHING like Russell later in this episode, but what can you do?!?
On top of telling Janelle he was Russell’s brother (he’s not even on Janelle’s team – talk about trust), he goes and makes a deal with Janelle to keep her players safe. And, see, this is what I’m talking about with coaches. I believe this is what some of you were even asking about what kind of drama the coaches were going to cause. I know Britney was in the room, and she wants to work with Janelle, but what about Shane and JoJo, who are also on Britney’s team. Perhaps they would have preferred working with Boogie and his team, or Dan and his team. Who is The Notorious R.I.B. (Russell’s Idiot Brother) to speak on behalf of his team and make a deal with Janelle and keep her players safe? I think I’d rather work with Boogie and his team, who might actually win some competitions, such as the HOH competition, and help keep me safe. You want to work with Wil With One L, Ashley, and Jugglin’ Joe? What are they going to do to help you other than offer a vote? The Notorious R.I.B. screwed the pooch on this one, as did Shane and JoJo (and Britney) for not speaking up about other options. Again, this shouldn’t be the season of the coaches. Yes, it’s a new, entertaining twist, but I like this game because I dream about being on it and playing it and strategizing to win, not necessarily for the drama and half-naked women!! Did any of you believe me when I said I didn’t like the game because of half-naked women? Have I been, at least, better about not bringing that up this year? I’m sure I’ll have a few slip-ups here and there (like when they showed Janelle sunbathing and how I was mad at Britney for wearing a shirt in the backyard…come on, who does that on Big Brother?!?), but I think T&A-A(nonymous) worked a little for me, right?
Why wouldnt you consider Frank as a key player? If he stays, there will be a war between Willie and Frank.
Also, why does Steve care how many columns you write? It just adds more time on his web site which just generates revenue. Confused on that one.
I never said he wasn’t a key player, I’m just addressing who CBS seems to be leaching onto. We hear a lot about Frank, but we don’t see him at all. That’s probably because he’s quiet and doesn’t say anything worthwhile.

I bet Willie goes to Frank and tells him the same old line, i don’t really want you out, your just the pawn, blah blah blah since I couldn’t put up Ian. And that he really wants Kara out. I think Poor Willie doesn’t have a chance in this game…
I am glad Boogie kept Ian safe so Willie couldn’t nominate him. Annoying people in the house (Ian, Joe) do not need to be sent home because you don’t want to make people angry or because they are annoying. That’s reason to keep them in the house as of now. I liked Willie’s nominations except for the fact he made a deal with Frank. That sealed his fate somehow…I just know it!
I also get angry calling Britney a “legend.” She had NO CLUE those boys were aligned, and probably still doesn’t!!! The girl is nice and all, and even makes funny comments once in a while, but please. I like the coaches twist, but I agree, it’s too much in the game. I found myself cheering because Boogie said to Dan that Janelle and Britney weren’t aligning yet, then realized, who cares what he thinks?!?! I can’t wait to see a player go against their coach!!!
Watching it I was wondering if Ian may have a mental illness of some sort. That’s the first thing that came to my mind while watching! Willie nomination of Frank may be a stupid move or it may be brilliant if he comes back! Nobody would suspect of them working together!
Jacklyn, the only reason I say to get rid of someone the house doesn’t care about losing is because it’s the first week. At this point, NOBODY knows who is a threat in the game, because we don’t even know what kind of game it’s going to be. For all we know, Ian, Joe, Ashley, Wil, and 5 other people could forge an alliance together and if they vote out Frank, that’s one less person Willie could have in his alliance. There is no way of telling which way the game is going to go after the first week, so just get out someone “safe” with your first HOH, don’t make waves, make a few side pacts with people, and sit tidy and hope your nominations don’t come back to bite you the next week. I’m not saying getting rid of Frank is stupid, I just think it’s making too much of a wave too early on in the game.
But, then again, people on Big Brother are F*CKING STUPID, so you might as well nominate two of the most popular, strongest people…
I thought it was weird/wrong, that they made the coach who won the coach’s competition pick a player as a Have Not – I thought it stood to reason that whatever coach won, their team wouldn’t have to be have nots. So, there’s no competition to determine have-nots? Eh – stupid.
I imagine it must be hard not to listen to the coaches right now – they are like celebrities to these players – to go against any of the coaches the first week would be really hard for any of them I would think. I’m pretty sure if I met George Clooney and he said something dumb (unlikely, he’s kinda a smart guy) or something I didn’t agree with, I probably wouldn’t say anything to disagree, I’d be a little starstruck. But, if I hung around him for a while, I believe that would wear off and then I would start to voice my opinions. Sigh, I just totally distracted myself with my fake best friend relationship with GC.
Anyway, point is I think they will start to think on their own in a couple of weeks. So it does seem like the coaches game right now, b/c they really aren’t letting the others play. As they show it anyway.
Still not fully decided on the coaches twist. I did get really excited b/c of Boogie and Janelle, but without Dr. Will its just not the same. They were so much fun – I loved that season. But, we’re not getting to see much of the personalities of the other players as a result – and that is CBS’ fault for not showing us. I think Will would probably have hilarious ITM’s. He showed promise last week. So, I guess we’ll see…
I can see your point about how these coaches are something of celebrities to these new houseguests, and I can agree to that thinking. I guess we never know how we’d react, but I still like to think that I would discuss it further with my coach who I thought would be smart to send home so that I don’t make waves in the house. From everything I’ve read/seen, these players just dropped to their knees and started sucking, for lack of a better analogy!
Not that I’m gay or anything, but I think if George Clooney told me to do something, I’d probably do it, too. Chances are he’s either paying me to do it or he’s telling me something that will get me paid in the future!
And, the biggest gripe I have about having previous houseguests back on the show is the fact that CBS likes to simply focus on those players. They follow their every move in the house during the aired episodes, and it just seems they are the only people we get to truly know. Sure, as the season winds down and there are less people to show, we might get to see more people and their interactions, but chances are we’re not going to care at that point.
Lastly, I agree about the Chill Town fake-phone-call conversations being the highlight of the All-Stars season. Definitely not the same.
Agreed Scott. I don’t like how all the camera attention is on the previous houseguests. Also – in a way, they are protecting the new houseguests from playing the game – they usually get thrown in the deep end right away and have to start playing – but with the coaches there is the potential for scapegoating. If we saw floaters before, I think there is a possibility that might even be magnified this season.
CHILLTOWN RULES! I’ll try to do better than 90’s sayings, but that’s what’s screaming in my head right now. There was magic between those two fellas that entertained me all summer long. Maybe they should disperse old chill town clips throughout the show for our us. That would make me happy.

Damn, I was just sick when Ian was given immunity! Seriously. He’s not just “creepy” (although he is that); I truly think he has mental health issues that need to be addressed. I watched the “After Dark” program one evening last week during a bout of insomnia, and Ian spent the entire time in the hot tub, at one point “humping” the water. I kid you not. Ewwwwwww ….
Well, its obvious the show is going to be about Boogie – ugh.
I don’t think Boogie understands how to be a coach. He’s too domineering, if he keeps this up his team is going to rebel, say screw you and turn him out of their decision circle – that is if they stay aligned at all. All he did was dictate to Frank – you could tell Frank was trying really hard to be polite, but his frustration showed (in his mind ‘don’t think I’m stupid Mike’). He’s coming on too strong as a coach, and it’s going to bite him in the ass. He’s playing like a player – but he has to realize he does not have as much power as he thinks. Although with the ability to give players immunity or have not status, I guess they have a bit – but they still need one of their players to win, so that only goes so far. Boogie I think is not going to make it, and his players are going to suffer, which sucks. All th e coaches think they have too much power, but if these players are smart, they’ll eventually say screw you and ignore their advice. Not much for repercussion. Then maybe these coaches will clue in that coaching is NOT dictating, but a give and take, listening and responding relationship – a mentor relationship is. Ot about the coach. All they are doing are constantly talking and making it all about them. They need to cool it. I think while many might not like Dan, he might be the best at this (if his players stay in) as his background is coaching, and I get the sense he could do this well. But I also sense a cockiness from him this time I didn’t think was there last time. Or maybe that’s just around Boogie – that ‘boy thing’ of being tough.
