Big Brother Recap – 7/17/15

Is anyone else on the same page as me with feeling as if they’ve played an entire season already? I don’t know about you, but I feel as if this season already feels so long in the tooth that I can’t figure out if that’s a good thing or bad thing. Everything changes in the house by the second and I feel they’re doing a decent enough job relaying that in the episodes, unlike in past seasons where they’ve left out major events inside the house from the viewing public to tell a different story. Maybe it’s just the edit they’re giving the house, but to me, it feels as if this season has already been on for two months so each time Johnny Mac reminded us that there were still 14 people in the house during tonight’s episode, I cringed a little. Am I alone in this thought? Or maybe it’s just because it’s been 3 weeks and I still don’t know who I like and don’t like. By now, I typically have a clear favorite in the house but I just don’t feel like anyone is connecting with my style. Nobody is truly rubbing me the wrong way, either, so that could have something to do with it, as well. Everything is just blah, I guess. And not to say this is a blah season, but I just feel like I’m coasting through the season and not pulling for anyone to pull out the HoH win, or for someone to win Veto to screw over the backdoor plans, or anything of that sort. Hopefully that turns around at some point. Austin and Vanessa are still up there in terms of houseguests’ closest to getting me to like them, but even they do or say things that just don’t jibe with me.

But anyway, let’s get to the recap of this whirlwind of an episode…

Actually, before we do, a quick reader recap (yeah, I know you’ve all forgotten about those bad boys) from a loyal reader, and often-commenter, Cndgirl:

“It’s a good thing Johnny ‘Bobcat’ Mac wears his sunglasses in the house -he’ll want to be sure not even a smidgeon of sun gets on him and ruins his ‘pasty chic’ look that he’s got going on. How has this guy not gotten ANY sun – its the big brother house, how is it even possible to avoid getting any colour when all the competitions are outside and he plays in all of them? I’m starting to think that John visits the BB makeup chair before DR sessions to receive his vampire look before filming.”

We all know how I feel about the Bobcat man. His voice trumps any other issues he may have, but I fully agree that his paste is something you can’t miss. He most definitely cakes on skin protectant every time he goes outside to keep himself from burning up. He’s probably related to Edward Cullen or wears one of those rings the Salvatore brothers have.

Now we can get back to the episode…

  1. I read Vanessa’s HOH blog and it was more interesting than those I saw for past seasons. She mapped out her view of the alliances, sub alliances, and intersecting alliances. She did not believe Austin’s lie about not throwing the veto. Split vote was better than boring unanimous votes of the past. I liked Meg and Liz not going with their alliances for their own games (even if you dispute their “logic”). Liz is one of those girls who always looks like she just smelled something bad.
