All that’s left now for Vanessa is to bring the idea to Jason, James, and Meg so that they’re all on board with getting Austin out this week, and that they’ll just do the HoH’s bidding no matter what happens, knowing they’re safe. She even agrees that they’ll make a Final 8 deal, including those three, Vanessa, Jackie, and Clelli, along with both twins. Such a turn of events for Austin. And I like how Johnny, the guy who threw all the comps so they could stay in power still gets the shaft in this deal. Along with Steve. Sorry, guys. Looks as if it can’t be Austin this week, it’ll be one of you two and I’d assume it would be Steve since Johnny is so agreeable and will do anything they ask. Also, quick note here, #DarkMoon is a STUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPID name for an alliance. Just saying.
Anyway, we all already knew the nominations were going to be James and Liz, and Clay and Becky. No surprise there.
However, the main surprise was how James even sucks at throwing competitions! Come on James, at least take some of the letters and “accidentally” hide them somewhere. Or give Liz the wrong name suggestions. Do something here. You can’t let Liz be “the brains” of the operation here and win!!! But win is exactly what Liz did, and I love it!! Although, the fact that everyone was all pissed off that they won is pointless at this point. If the entire house is involved with getting Austin out at this point, what does it matter if they won and got off the block? If anything, it’s better, since Jackie isn’t in charge of the renom at this point and Vanessa is in power. Of course, she doesn’t want the blood on her hands, but what blood will be on her hands if the entire house is in on the backdoor? Also, why worry about who you evict now? They aren’t going to jury and won’t be voting for who wins the game, so if anything, this is still the perfect time to win and get blood on your hands. So, while they can be upset that the plan didn’t work to a T, they still don’t need to be so upset because they’re all completely in power still and can just take Clay off the block, put Austin up, and he’d definitely go home sitting next to Becky, who seems to be becoming the new Jackie after putting up an impressive showing the first couple weeks in the comps.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Veto. The only thing that will hurt their plan is if Austin wins the Veto, but even then, they could do their best to talk him into taking Clay down so they can put up Steve or Bobcat and get one of them out as the backup plan. And that would be even less blood she’d need to be worried about. So, we’ll all be waiting on pins and needles until Wednesday to find out if they get what they want, or if Austin somehow stays alive here…
Until then…
…or wait, maybe I have something else for you guys still. I did a quick interview with Donny from last season. Check that out below:
Q: What were your thoughts before entering the house about how you’d fit in with the rest of the house or if you felt you’d be typecast?
Donny: I figured I would stick out like a sore thumb. I figured I would be the oldest and I was. I figured I wouldn’t have as much in common with other houseguest as others would.
Q: Did you have a set strategy for how you wanted to play before you walked through the front door? If so, did it change quickly or at all?
Donny: Yes I didn’t want to ask anyone for an alliance but would wait for people to come to me because I wouldn’t go blab to others about it. I was going to lay low and befriend everyone. Just be a likable person that others could trust. Not talk too much game to put a target on me. But I figured my age would get me put up early because I may not fit in with a bunch of 20 year olds. So I wasn’t surprised when I was nominated but didn’t know they thought I was a special forces Harvard professor.
Q: What was the craziest moment you experienced inside the house?
Donny: I guess just watching people getting very paranoid. Opening doors to see who’s in a room and thinking that people talking about them all the time. I may have been a little paranoid too.
Q: What part of living with that many people in one house took the longest to get used to?
Donny: I’ve lived alone for 21 years prior to BB. Maybe the sleeping arrangement, sharing a bed with a stranger, trying to sleep with a lot of noise and with bright lights on. I was raised if someone slept you whispered and tip toed but it was very loud!
Q: Do you think the Battle of the Block is a good twist? Or do you think it hurts people’s games more than it helps?
Donny: I liked the BOB. Maybe because I was nominated 7 times. It gave me an extra chance to save myself. And if you won a BOB you knew you were 100% safe for the week. Made people play as a team in a game of individual competitions.
Q: Setting aside the money aspect, is it more fulfilling to be voted America’s Favorite Player or would you rather have won the game?
Donny: I am very proud that I got America’s Favorite but would have loved to win the game. But I knew my chance of winning was very slim. So I am greatfull that I was chosen by America. Thank you everyone who voted!
Q: The house doesn’t seem that big and there aren’t many doors to hide behind, could you hear conversations going on anywhere in the house from any other room? And is the sliding glass door in the backyard shaded off so you can’t see inside the house? And is it sound proof?
Donny: People claimed you could hear people in the bathroom from HOH room but I never did. You could hear people mumbling in storage room from fire room but I never could make out anything people said. The back sliding door is tinted but you can still see through it both ways and hear through it. However production can put down a rolling metal door that you can’t see through and can’t really hear through it. Just like banging while they build comps.
Q: There were times they’d show you guys’ hearing people yelling things from outside the house. How often did that actually happen? And did they usher you inside right away when it did?
Donny: It only happened maybe three times during my 70 days. They would make us go in the house and have a lockdown. Told us not to talk to each other about people yelling because that would make them do it more. Even if we heard music we would have to go in.
Q: Why do you believe Cody played a better game than Derrick?
Donny: I voted for Cody to win because two different times I told him if I’m in Jury and you’re final two I will vote for you. I stuck to my word.
Q: Are you watching this season? If so, thoughts on some of the houseguests? Anyone a frontrunner yet?
Donny: Yes! They are all really great characters. Right now I like Steve. John is very funny. For the girls I like Shelli, but it could change daily. I just love watching Big Brother!!!
Q: How’s life been treating you since the show ended?
Donny: Great! I didn’t get my job back but got another one that I like. I’ve been to many Charity events and got to meet many BB Alumni and Survivor Alumni. I am very recognizable out in public with this out of control beard. I love taking pictures with Fans. Got to be a special guest on a Big Brother Canada Side Show. Life is good! You can plug that I will be in Florida in August for Hearts Of Reality to raise money for “Give Kids The World”. Thank you Scott.
And there you have it!

When James came back up to the HoH room, I thought he was going to ask Vanessa if he could bring her mother’s picture down to the bathroom for awhile. Reminded me of Caleb from last season making creepy comments about women in the pictures as he developed instant attractions to them. I could see Austin trying to establish a backup alliance but he shared the wrong information. I did feel bad for him when his crush told her sister that she had zero interest in him.
I cannot feel bad for Austin. Austin is acting just like Caleb from last season. Crushes on a girl, and then decides how her game will go in the house, making decisions about her, without her say, or even her knowledge. Caleb wrecked Ambers chances at this game last year, all because she didn’t feel how he wanted her too. What is with these Neanderthal men – ‘grab woman by hair and drag her back to cave’? Well, let’s hope the behaviour is a manifestation in the bb house, and not what he’s like in real life. It’s just good that they’ll get Austin out before he can wreck Julia or Liz’s game. I’m not saying they’re innocent, or playing a fantastic game here, I’m just saying they should be given the choice to play their own game.
I agree, Cndgirl, that it sucks they don’t get to play their “own” game, but that’s Big Brother. In all reality, NOBODY gets to play their own game, so it’s all about adapting to who’s in the house with you and the ramifications of their actions. If you need to pretend that you like someone to feed their ego, you do it. Nobody is saying that Liz needs to make out with Austin or have sex with him or anything, but if it helps her win $500,000, I think pretending she’s interested in him for a couple months isn’t too much to ask. Now with that said, I do agree with you that these guys are taking it a bit too far, however Liz is handling it a heck of a lot better than Amber did last year…
Yeah, I was thinking that as I wrote it – that you could say nobody really gets to play their own game, I get that. Likely I’m reacting as a woman to that type of play – as the decisions/game play is not really even about the game at all – or it didn’t start out being about the game. I could go for the flirting etc for forwarding the game – that I understand. But someone planning out complete game play about MY game, when it’s someone who supposedly likes me, or someone getting so mad about unrequited feelings that they want to destroy my game, well. I think I would lose it if my game got cut off at the knees because of this reason. It’s like a child destroying a toy because they don’t want anyone else playing with it. Except these are grown men, which equates to scary/creepy behaviour, in my opinion.
I’m sure there are some triggers for men as well, on how a woman might manipulate a man in a game that would be considered going to far – a perspective I wouldn’t completely understand not being a man (or identifying as one).
