Big Brother Recap – 8/10/15

August 10th, 2015 | 1 Comment | Posted in Uncategorized

I’m just going to throw this out there since I just thought of it earlier today, but I’m thinking this season of Big Brother is the True Detective season 2 of Big Brother seasons. I know I’ve been saying recently that this season has been starting to grow on me, but I still feel like this season is just dragging on and on and on. I think it has something to do with how every episode seems to be only about a certain select few people and it seems as if 8-10 people in the house aren’t even on this season. For all those who don’t watch True Detective, I apologize, but you can still understand what I’m saying. Season 1 of True Detective was incredible (except the ending). Season 2 had such great hype about it, but it’s been less than lackluster so far (and it’s about to end…well, actually it did end tonight but I won’t get to watch it until tomorrow because I’m writing this blog instead…). I still like it enough to watch it, but also feel as if I could stop watching it right now before the finale episode and not regret it all that much. That is sort of how I feel about this season of Big Brother. I like it enough to watch it, but I think if I wasn’t writing this blog, I’d let it stack up in my DVR for a few weeks and maybe just do a binge day of watching it to get caught up or maybe just see the “Big Brother (23)” in my DVR and just be like “Holy sh!t, that’s a lot of episodes to catch up on, I’ll just go read one of the six BILLION blogs and websites dedicated to the show to catch up.” I know I probably mention this too often, but I think it’s just the Sunday episodes that make me feel this way. Watching the Wednesday and Thursday episodes on back-to-back days, you get into the show, and into the season, and excited at what’s about to happen, but then you have a few days to think about it and Sunday’s episode rolls around and you sort of lost some of that excitement. Or maybe it’s just me, I don’t know…

Anyway, as most people in today’s world, there’s no way we went from Thursday night until tonight without knowing who won HoH, so I’ll just fast forward past all of this stupid people-falling-on-their-@ss montages and just put it out there that Becky wins! All three of the prizes. Nobody else was even close. Did they not think of that when they decided to allow one person to win all three of the prizes? Did they honestly think that two people were going to be THAT close that one of them would take their ball out, win the $5,000 and then end up losing the HoH because someone else was right there at the same time and got their ball on the HoH before?!? That was a stupid idea by Big Brother production. It makes no sense. Everyone can see where everyone else is with their balls, so they’d know if someone was close enough to snatch the HoH away from them! The least they could have done was section off the alleys so that they couldn’t see each other. Or just block off the tanks from everyone else’s view. Oh well…

The only noteworthy thing to mention from the comp was we actually got to see and hear Steve. The fact that he mentioned the worst person for him to win would be Becky all but gave away the fact that Becky was going to win and also that Steve was going to be nominated, because we never see or hear from Steve, so if they’re going to show us something with him involved, it’s most definitely going to set up something that happens later in the episode…you know, like Becky actually winning and then putting him on the block!!

  1. Still not sure why Becky and Steve have an issue. I think she, Steve and Bobcat could be an effective secret alliance. Bobcat telling the truth – something he should not have said anyway – was funny because she would not believe him. Shelli scolding Clay and trying to get him to behave during all that was a sign of what he has to look forward to outside the house if they get together. In Vanessa’s HoH blog a couple weeks ago, she talked about trying to build an alliance with Steve. I don’t remember anything airing that showed that beyond his comment about her last night. They did the prize / HoH thing better in the past when they had different sized containers to fill so that everyone had to show publicly whether they were going for a prize or HoH.
